Birthday Celebration

On the same day that Amaya turned 8 months old [May 6], her Abuelito [Grandpa] turned 49 years old. We went over to celebrate. In their family tradition after singing the Mexican birthday song, the birthday person is supposed to take the first bite from the cake, and the kids always like to dunk their face in the cake. Here Amaya along with her cousins are helping their Abuelito with the first bite!



In other exciting news Amaya learned to CLAP and wave BYE BYE! She's also been pushing herself backwards, which I think is a prelude to crawling. Its very funny because she can't see where she's going. Along with pushing herself she's gotten really into walking, not by herself of course, but with some help. She loves especially to walk towards a mirror. Unfortunately, she also has gotten in the habit of biting, and with 8 teeth and a strong jaw, that can really hurt!
