computer down

unfortunately, our computer broke last, which is especially unfortunate because i have some exciting video of amaya CRAWLING!  yes, amaya learned to crawl last week.  it's not quite a traditional on your hands and knees kind of locomotion, but it gets her from one place to another.  she's not exactly always on the move because the hardwood floors make it a little uncomfortable.  i know from first hand experience because in my attempts to encourage amaya to crawl, i would often crawl on the floor to show her to the dismay of my knees.  amaya has also become really proficient at rolling over onto her belly and then pushing herself up to a sitting position.  it seems almost over night that amaya went from being pretty stationary to a bustling little baby.  amaya has also started to amuse herself by screaming.  i think she's testing her vocal range, and she'll scream at the most random of times, or at least it seems random to me.  

this is love park in center city philadelphia, and it is our unofficial kick off of summer fun event.  hanako, amaya, and i went to a speaking event at the library with michael eric dyson.  he's an african american intellectual and professor.  it was fun, and he is very funny.  not to mention we all love the library!  

as you can see amaya got pushed into a corner, er under a table.

hopefully our computer will be fixed soon.  until then, our posts will probably be a little more infrequent.
